The merger of Nurminen Logistics and Essinge Rail was celebrated together with customers and partners in Stockholm
Nurminen Logistics acquired the Swedish logistics company Essinge Rail in December 2024.
We wanted to celebrate Essinge’s joining Nurminen Logistics together with our customers and partners by organising an invited guest event in Stockholm.
The event was opened by Olli Pohjanvirta, President and CEO of Nurminen Logistics. The opening address was followed by an interesting speech by Deputy Head of Mission Janne Jokinen (Embassy of Finland in Stockholm). He emphasised the close partnership between Finland and Sweden and the importance of smooth logistics for trade and security of supply. He also highlighted the Nurminen’s Haaparanta–Gothenburg train connection and its significance for both countries.

Meetings and discussions on sustainable railway logistics
The event was an excellent opportunity for the customers and partners to learn more about Nurminen Logistics, its history and services. During the evening, there was a lively discussion about how security of supply and sustainable logistics are becoming increasingly important in companies. The merger of Nurminen Logistics and Essinge Rail brings together expertise that helps solve customer supply chain challenges and provides more flexible and efficient transport solutions.

“It was really pleasing to see how many professionals from different industries came together. There was a large number of participants from all over Sweden and Europe,” says Marjut Linnajärvi, VP, International Rail Operations and Sales.

The warm atmosphere of the event and the cosy venue created an excellent setting for networking.
The discussions highlighted the satisfaction of both Essinge Rail’s and Nurminen Logistics’ customers with the services, and their enthusiasm for future expansion opportunities. The evening showed how the strengths of both companies complement each other and support the development of international railway logistics.

“We received a lot of positive feedback from the participants about the event and were happy to spend time with our customers and partners. Everyone was very interested in hearing more about our upcoming development projects. This successful event was a demonstration of our budding cooperation, which will deepen in the future!”, said Elina Averio, Sales and Business Development Specialist.

Thank you to everyone who participated in the event!
