Nurminen Logistics transports block trains along the Trans-Caspian route to Kazakhstan’s largest automotive factory

The logistics company Nurminen Logistics has started regular block train transports from the Czech Republic to Kazakhstan to the automotive industry operator Allur Company's factory in Kostanay, where the country's largest automotive factory is located.

Allur Company is the official manufacturer and distributor of vehicles for Škoda, Chevrolet, and Kia, among others. Nurminen Logistics in partnership with RED STAR LOGISTICS made its first test train for its customer in January, and now the trains will be transported to the factory monthly. Auto parts and components are transported on trains in 40-foot HC containers.

Trains run from Prague to Kostanay along the Trans-Caspian route, which bypasses Russia. This route has become increasingly important for European companies. In the spring of 2022, Nurminen Logistics was one of the industry pioneers when it started transporting on the route.

"We have done a lot of work and operational development with different operators and ports to ensure a competitive delivery time and a functional connection. Nurminen's long history, expertise and recognition in Central Asian countries have helped us in this," says Marjut Linnajärvi, Nurminen Logistics' Director of International Rail Traffic and Sales.

The Trans-Caspian route, which combines rail and sea transport, is an excellent response to the needs of modern transport chains, where speed and low emissions play a significant role.
